9 of 10 inmates in jail
are men.
9 of 10 on death row
hate their father.
9 of 10 juvees
are boys.
All school shootings
were carried out
by young men.
And more than 5 of 10
boys will graduate
high school without
their father at home.
Now think about this,
virtually all our social
problems are symptoms
of one problem.
We don't teach our boys
how to be men.
*****************
Make a man a mentor,
whether he's a father,
a coach, a Scout Master
or just a friend, and you make the next generation
of men better.
Make a man a mentor,
and you make the lives
of the future wives and
children much better.
Make a man a mentor,
and you make him
a better man.
If we bestow a vision
of authentic manhood
to the next generation
of men,
imagine the compounded
return.

Mentoring Our Fatherless Boys |
We are bestowing a vision of authentic manhood
to the next generation of men!
Today’s families, communities, churches and nation bear little resemblance to those of yesteryear. The onslaught of cultural changes has strained our society beyond its limits. Overwhelming evidence points to the vacuum of authentic manhood as a major cause of these issues. And with over half of our boys graduating high school without their father at home, the hope for the next generation of men is bleak.
Tomorrow’s hope for authentic manhood rests in today’s boys.
But most fatherless boys are missing out on the influence of a man.
And all of today’s boys need men in their lives.
They need faithful men!
They need changed men!
They need men equipped to model, teach and mentor.
The following ministries will help you accomplish just that. If you are a single mother with sons, you likely recognize the need for your sons to have adult male role models. Find the resources you need to equip yourself as well as your sons' coaches, Scoutmasters, Sunday School teachers and other mentors. Share these resources with your church staff and encourage them to help meet the needs of the fatherless boys.

Squires2Knights Ministries is equipping men to mentor our teenage boys. They have developed a teaching plan using three Knighthood Verses. The ministry offers resources for teaching Christ-centered manhood in mentoring groups, athletic teams, Boy Scout troops, youth groups and after-school clubs. These resources are also ideal for use by fathers and single moms with sons. |

Better Dads, Rick Johnson
http://www.betterdads.net
Better Dads is an organization dedicated to helping people in the community by offering education in parenting and family relationships. We fundamentally believe that good fathers and good men make a critical difference in our society. However, we recognize that people who have grown up without a positive male influence in their lives do not understand how to pass that legacy on to the next generation. To address this issue we provide a variety of educational seminars and workshops. Included in our resources are specific books, DVDs, seminars and workshops for single moms.
